Concerts are some of the few events that depending on who is appearing on them, that people will pay extraordinary amounts of money to come and view. At these events, the excitement and the anticipation keep on building and once these star guests appear the energy tends to explode, and the concert really kicks off into high gear. Now in order to pull off a successful event, some obvious requirements have to be met.
For example, you obviously want some good speaker systems so that everyone can hear the music and also proper ways so that people at the back can still see and enjoy the performance. Now these are obvious things that most concerts would have anyway thought of and planned accordingly. However, there are some other things that are equally important but are not often thought about and sometimes forgotten or done poorly.
Making Sure you have Constant Power
One of the best ways to ruin a concert is to have the power fail on you in the middle of the concert. This will make everyone from the people who paid to come and the people who were actually paid to perform. A black out like this is very bad news and can and do often happen if there is no proper planning. One mistake that most people do is that they overload a single line and then when all the equipment are turned on the fuse blows and cuts off the power.
The other big mistake that people make is that they do not prepare for a power outage. For example, if you have a decent 200 KVA generator it will step in immediately and supply the backup power as soon as the main line cuts off.
Both of these problems should be always addressed and be properly addressed because otherwise, the only reason your concert will be a success is that you got lucky. To help this you should make sure you hire an electrical expert who has done work on large scale projects such as a concert and seek their advice on how to properly set up and run the power that is needed for a concert without any accidental interruptions.
Making Sure to have Proper Crowd Control
Quite a few concerts make the ever so obvious mistake of not having proper or adequate crowd control measures. This means that in most cases the only real crowd control is at the entrance to the main concert area and security people at the entrance points to restricted areas. While these are also needed, these measures alone are not nearly as adequate as would be expected from a concert where a decent volume of people is expected to attend.
Ideally you would want to have people all around the concert floor and people stationed in readiness in case some problems like a fight develops. You would also want to have extra people at the entrances who manage and control the lines of people who are trying to buy tickets or trying to get in. Having a proper and fair system in place will mean that even if it takes a little longer to get everyone in, people will not be too upset.
These two elements of a concert are two of the most important elements that need to happen well and smoothly without any problems in order for people to actually commend the organizers and potentially come back for future shows. So, it is very important to get right.
