Melbourne spoilt with a 2 Day Donut and Beer Festival
on Labour Day Weekend
On Sunday March 12th 2017 between 2pm – 8pm and Monday March 13th 2017 from 12pm- 6pm, Australia’s very own Donut
and Beer Festival will come to life at The Village Melbourne on St Kilda Road.
Sponsored by Coopers Brewery, Two Birds Brewing, Square and Zomato the Donut and Beer Festival
is inspired by the Donut Festivals in Chicago, L.A. and NYC, but is not connected to any of the
American festivals. This all ages event will feature specialty coffee, local and boutique brews and an
enormous multi-coloured Donut Wall. It will be the first of many exciting events produced by Chow
Down Events Pty Ltd.
The Donut and Beer Festival will celebrate all things donut shaped; sugary, sweet, and savoury from
a range of talented and aspiring bakers. You can expect a fresh contemporary spin on the classical
handcrafted loukoumades from Honey Dee, gourmet mini donuts from Dip'd and specialty donuts
from Newman Espresso. There will also be organic chai from Chai Walli and Tim Tam donut shakes
from amDESSERT. And for the vegans and health enthusiasts out there, Cocomama’s will be on site
selling gluten free and vegan donuts including what we expect to be the crowd favourite, their
infamous sushi donuts.
Goldelucks’ hybrid “dossants” (donut-croissant), nutella donut burgers by Nuts-About-Tella, and
coffee experts; Workshop Bros will all be at the festival. Love ice cream? 196below known for their
liquid nitrogen ice cream will be around to keep you cool with their donut ice cream sandwiches.
Shark Tank contestants, Those Girls will be on standby, ready to help you quench your thirsty with
their delicious apple cider and cool iced tea. Empire Foods will also be around showcasing their
BuzzMe Honey Energy Drink. Even Cupcake Central – known for their delicious cupcakes have
created their own unique donut-cupcake just for the festival!
An Instagram competition will also be running on the day, where the most creative Instagram post
on the day will win the ultimate ‘Donut Lovers’ prize pack. To enter you simply need to
#donutfestmelb and tag @donutfestau to your creative Instagram post. Further details and winners
will be announced on the official Donut Fest Melbourne Facebook page.
A gold coin donation is essential for entry to the festival. Proceeds will go to Eat Up - a local charity
that packs and distributes lunches to disadvantaged students who arrive to school hungry and
without lunch every day.
