Donut and Beer Festival to launch Down Under

Donut and Beer Festival to launch Down Under

On Sunday March 12th 2017 between 2pm – 8pm Australia’s very own Donut and Beer Festival will come to

life in Melbourne at The Village Melbourne on St Kilda Road. Inspired by the Donut Festivals in Chicago, L.A.

and NYC, Donut Fest Melbourne is not connected to any of these American festivals. This all ages event will

feature specialty coffee, local and boutique brews and an enormous multi-coloured Donut Wall. It will be the

first of many exciting produced by Chow Down Events Pty Ltd.

Set in the outdoor beer garden of the iconic Village Melbourne, the Donut Fest will celebrate

celebrate all things donut shaped; sugary, sweet, and savoury from a range of talented and aspiring bakers.

Donuts of all sorts of flavours, shapes and sizes will be sold left, right, and centre alongside local beers from

top Australian breweries.

Festival-goers will be able to challenge themselves on the day by partaking in a Hanging-Donut Eating

Competition, where their hands must be tied as they try and finish a donut hanging from a piece of string. An

Instagram competition will also be running on the day, where the most creative Instagram post on the day

will win the ultimate ‘Donut Lovers’ prize pack. Further details and winners will be announced on the official

Donut Fest Melbourne Facebook page.

A gold coin donation is essential for entry to the festival. Proceeds will go to Eat Up - a local charity that

packs and distributes lunches to disadvantaged students who arrive to school hungry and without lunch

every day.

Chow Down Events Pty Ltd. have hinted they will be launching a Donut Fest in Sydney in the upcoming

months, “we’ve received so much interest we are already speaking with venues to secure a date.”
